Things got a little hectic during a recent WNBA confrontation between Connecticut Sun And Indiana fever. At one point during the Sun’s 17-point victory, DiJonai Carrington was seen making fun of the rookie phenomenon Caitlin Clark.

The hit came after a defensive foul was called on Carrington as she tried to guard the Fever star.

Carrington stepped in front of Clark as she moved toward the basket. A whistle was immediately blown after the contact, with the Connecticut defender flicking Clark as she dribbled.

Carrington didn’t think it warranted a foul, saying Caitlin Clark prompted officials to make the call by shaking her head back to emphasize the collision.

She expressed her disgust to the referees shortly after.

Flopping has been a part of Caitlin Clark’s game since her time at Iowa. Often, she exaggerates contact to get to the free throw line.

When calls don’t come through, she’ll make sure the officiating team hears it so they can have a closer eye on the situation next time. It is a spirit of play that is found at all levels of sport.

DiJonai Carrington was fed up with Clark’s attacks and she made sure everyone knew it. She also locked down her opponent in perhaps her most complete match of the season.

Carrington held Clark to just 10 points on 3-of-8 shooting. She racked up six rebounds and three steals while posting a season-high 22 points for her Sun team.

Carrington put together a drive at both ends of the court to help his team come away with a convincing 89-72 victory. Connecticut improved to 10-1 this year while the Fever fell to just 3-10.
