A cameraman describes the heartbreaking moment he spotted the body while searching for Dr. Michael Mosley

A local cameraman has recounted the heartbreaking moment he spotted the body while searching for Michael Mosley. The TV presenter went missing on the Greek island of Symi on Wednesday (June 4), which led to an extensive search operation over the past few days.

A body believed to be Dr. Mosley’s has been found. Tributes poured in, expressing upset at the news.

I am talking with News from heaven, local cameraman Antonios said he spotted a body on the boat with Mayor Symi. Eleftherios Papakaloudoukas said the body found was believed to be that of the TV doctor, and local police later confirmed the sad news.

Antonios said: “We were sitting in this cafe-bar, all reporters, and we decided to get on a boat and go out to search at sea, where the search rescuers and teams went. During our trip, we saw something inside. sea ​​close to the rocks.

“We thought it was an umbrella, so we took some close-ups and close-ups. It was nothing.

“When we went to the beach, I noticed something black behind the fence at the end of the beach. I wasn’t sure so I zoomed in with my camera as close as I could – it was about 300 meters away.

“I saw something I wasn’t sure of. I told the mayor he was sitting next to me. He said OK, when we come back we will check again.

“We did so and were a little closer, about 200 meters. I also took the photo again. However, it was too small in the camera. I wasn’t sure.

“So we decided that when we came to the café again, we would play the material. We took a photo of the screen, enlarged it and you can clearly see that there is a man lying there. The description is exactly the same as the guy we saw looking for.

“I’m really sorry about the family. I’m sorry I was the one who found it.”

In a message to Dr Mosley’s family, Antonios said: ‘I wish we had better news. Nothing more”.

He added: “This area has been searched I don’t know how many times. Yesterday, a helicopter flew over here about 20 times, there were drones, there was everything. I guess it’s just bad luck. I don’t know”.
