A Winlock man accused of throwing concrete and rocks at his father’s car, causing more than $5,000 in damage, appeared in Lewis County Superior Court on Thursday on one count of first-degree malicious mischief.

This charge is a Class B felony, punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

Court documents show Miguel Ramirez Magdelano Scott, 31, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail just before 6:05 p.m. on June 6 after Winlock police officers responded to a disturbance call on Front Street.

Two neighbors reported seeing Ramirez Magdelano Scott throwing concrete and rocks at his father’s car.

Officers at the scene examined the car, a “new-looking Jaguar XJL sedan with extensive damage.” They determined that the windshield, both front windows and the rear driver’s side window were shattered, and the front passenger door had been borrowed and scrapped. Officers also found pieces of concrete and brick inside and around the vehicle, including a large piece of concrete thrown through the windshield.

Officers reportedly contacted Ramirez Magdelano Scott, who refused to talk to officers about the allegations, near the damaged car.

He was arraigned on Friday in Lewis County Superior Court, and a preliminary hearing has been scheduled for 4 p.m., Friday, June 7.
