During the year, 97 vehicles containing smuggled goods were confiscated

MULTAN:

Customs authorities in Multan confiscated 97 cargo vehicles, 302 duty-free vehicles, foreign currency worth Rs20 million, smuggled food items worth over Rs200 million, tires worth Rs100 million, spare parts worth Rs80 million and Rs473,500 liters of foreign fuel during the last fiscal year.

Customs officer Imran Sajjad Bukhari said that the collector recorded 839 cases, which is 143% more than the previous year.

He said revenue in the region was up 48% from the previous financial year.

He said fake currency, gold, mobile phones and other items worth millions of rupees were also confiscated at the Multan airport.
