5 spoilers for next week’s EastEnders

1. Callum Highway investigates the murder of Keanu Taylor

On Father’s Day, Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) is lonely without his son Ben (Max Bowden) and daughter Louise (Tilly Keeper). It hurts even more when Denise Fox (Diane Parish) takes their son Raymond Dawkins (Michael Jose Pomares Calixte) on the road to prepare for her grandson Jordan’s baptism.

Phil is offended when Callum doesn’t invite him to Ben’s video call that day, so he asks Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) if he can spend time with their son Albie. Reluctant, Sharon relents and is happy to see father and son bond over the game of soccer.

Sharon convinces Callum to invite Phil to talk to Ben anyway, but when Callum asks her about Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo) and Keanu, Sharon runs away. Callum’s suspicions are again aroused by a comment from real killer Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) before he prepares to video call Ben from an American prison.

When Callum informs Phil about his earlier conversation with Sharon, Phil visits Sharon again. When Phil notices a suspicious text message from Linda on her phone, Phil demands the truth. Sharon insists she has nothing to say, so Phil asks Linda instead, until Sharon stops Phil.

As the week progresses, Sharon is horrified when she runs into Callum in a café as he announces that he is speaking to detectives investigating Keanu’s murder. Sharon, Linda, Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) and Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) discuss how to keep Callum off the trail.

Jack tries to stop Callum from pursuing the case, while Johnny takes advantage of Ben’s absence to convince Callum to abandon his suspicions. Will this be enough to stop Callum, or will he find out that Linda is responsible for Keanu’s death?

Meanwhile, Sharon allows Phil to see Albie more often, and when Phil is alone with the little boy, she confirms to Albie that he is his dad. But does Phil know about Sharon’s involvement in the cover-up?

When asked what motivated Callum to delve into the Keanu case, the Clay actor explained: “I think under normal circumstances it would be unfair for Callum to be so keen on catching Keanu’s killer, given their history.

“I think he just grabs on to anything that keeps him focused and busy so he doesn’t have to think about his true feelings about Ben being gone. “It definitely distracts from what’s going on in his personal life.”

Could Johnny convince Callum that he reads too much because he misses his husband, using Ben’s situation to Six’s advantage?

2. Yolande Trueman haunted by Pastor Clayton’s presence

Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walker) tries to convince Yolande to skip the baptism, but she is determined to attend. Yolande is irritated when she learns that Patrick tried to interfere with Chelsea Fox’s (Zaraah Abrahams) plans, and the two have a heated exchange.

Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) gives Yolande some advice, but it is short-lived when she comes face to face with Pastor Clayton and his wife Stella (Velile Tshabalala) outside the community center. Yolande is anxious when the day of Jordan’s baptism arrives, but Patrick supports her.

Chelsea is nervous for other reasons, but she’s distracted by her aunt Kim Fox’s (Tameka Empson) outfit! At church, Denise senses something is wrong with Yolande and tries to talk to her privately, while Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris) bumps into Yolande praying and the two have an unexpected heart-to-heart about courage.

Yolande finds the strength to continue with the occasion as planned, but it soon becomes too much and she shouts at Clayton before running out of the church. Will Clayton ever face trial?

Stevie, Billy, Jack and Howie Danes (Delroy Atkinson) go on a Father’s Day fishing trip with their sons, and Stevie confiscates the phones of Denzel (Jaden Ladega), Will and Ricky (Frankie Day) to force them to enjoy great time spent outdoors and reconnect with their fathers.

Billy worries for his father’s well-being when Stevie calls him by the wrong name – and we wonder if Stevie is using the name of another son, Teddy (Roland Manoookian), instead. EastEnders has confirmed Teddy’s imminent arrival along with his own sons Harry (Elijah Holloway) and Barney (Lewis Bridgeman), and their existence will leave Billy stunned!

However, before the big on-screen reveal, Billy worries about Stevie’s apparent memory lapses, but is soon distracted by Will when he is forced to take the teenager’s phone away upon his return to Walford. Stevie tries to defuse the situation before catching Will stealing his mom Honey Mitchell’s (Emma Barton) purse.

Will tries to hide it, but Stevie notices the text on Will’s phone and forces the truth out of him – Will admits he’s being blackmailed! Stevie plans to tell Billy, but decides against it at the last minute and instead asks Mo Harris (Laila Morse) for help.

Mo and Stevie sell stolen goods at the market to raise money for Will, but their good start is ruined by nosy Phil when Honey and Billy stop an unlicensed stallholder…

4. Lola Pearce-Brown’s fundraiser ruined by theft

When a fundraiser for Lola begins at The Vic, Stevie is in no mood to celebrate because he feels guilty about letting Will down.

Mo lifts Stevie’s spirits and the pair perform a successful magic act while Lola’s widower, Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick), sings and plays guitar.

But then the locals are horrified to learn that the charity money has been stolen! Does this have anything to do with Will’s dilemma? Or is there another explanation that isn’t related to this mysterious plot?

5. Maya Houssain delves into Harvey Monroe’s past

Harvey and Maya go to lunch together after Maya is stood up by a friend. However, the conversation turns bitter when the topic returns to their families and Harvey reveals the truth about his son Aaron’s (Charlie Wernham) criminal actions.

Harvey worries he’s lost a friend in Maya when she doesn’t respond to his texts, but we soon see him searching for details of Aaron’s criminal past. What is Maya’s motive?
