Orange County Leaders Worry Environmental Initiative May Fail on November Ballot – WFTV

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Some Orange County commissioners fear voters won’t have a chance to decide an important issue on the ballot.

Commissioners say the rural boundary initiative may not make it on the November ballot.

Orange County’s new Supervisor of Elections discussed pushing back the deadline for completing legal reviews, workshops and public hearings.

“We must review any development that may take away grazing land or environmentally sensitive land,” said Commissioner Nicole Wilson. “And that needs to continue in the voting process so that people can answer the question.”

The elections office manager says he has not yet decided whether he will change the deadline for the legal language of this ballot question.
