PALA: Adv. Binu Pulickakandam, the only councilor who won the CPM symbol in Pala municipality, was expelled from the CPM citing violation of discipline and anti-organizational activities. He was a member of Pala Thekkekara West Branch and leader of the CPM parliamentary party in Pala Municipality.

Yesterday, Binu publicly attacked Kerala Congress (M) president Jose K Mani. Accordingly, the Pala district committee decided to expel Binu for his media reaction to the CPM and LDF state committee’s decision on the Rajya Sabha seat issue. The Kottayam district committee approved the district committee’s decision.

“As a councilor of Pala Binu Municipality, he constantly took an anti-party stance. He was warned several times for taking a stand contrary to the party’s policies and its front,” said Prime Minister Joseph, Pala Area Secretary.

For the past year and a half, Binu has been appearing at public functions wearing a black dress, claiming that he was denied the post of Pala municipal president due to the opposition of the Kerala Congress (M). Binu sparked another controversy after Kerala Congress (M) Jose Cheeramkuzhy accused him of stealing an Apple Airpod during a municipal council meeting.
